Kara Lee Rakes, 65, of Gaston Webb Chapel Rd., died February 19, 2013 at the Robin Johnson House. She was born on February 13, 1947 in Summers County, W.Va. a daughter of the late Eldridge Giles and Pauline Jefferies Giles Richmond and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband William Arthur Rakes, daughter Brenda Welch of Lincolnton and sons Randy Rakes of Kings Mountain and William Rakes of Dallas, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren and three sister Betty burgess of W. Va., Anna May Severini of S.C. and Martha Lynn.
A memorial service will be private for the family.
