Junior Lingerfelt

Horace McKnight Lingerfelt Jr. age 73 of Hallman St., formerly of Lincolnton, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare Lincoln. He was born June 30, 1944 in Lincoln County, to the late Horace McKnight and Lona Cody Lingerfelt. Junior enjoyed watching sports and golfing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Darty Lingerfelt; and brothers, Johnny and G.D. Lingerfelt.

Survivors include his children, Stacey Elizabeth Lingerfelt (Brian Jarrell) of Cherryville, Herman Ricky Carpenter (Kim) of Maiden, and Donna Sain (Mike) of Crouse; grandchildren, Tyler Carpenter, Joecey Bridges, Jonathan Sain, Lindsey Sain, Lauren Sain, David Sain and Connie Moore; and great grandchildren, Abagail, Kaiden, William and Oliver.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw and Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
