Johnna Lynn Wright Stamey, age 58 of Kings Mountain, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 5, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Charlotte. She was born September 24, 1963, in Gaston County, NC to the late John Stephen Wright and Barbara Jean Kiser Wright. Johnna dedicated her life to helping others as a dental hygienist, most recently at the Access Dental Care mobile unit, serving patients with special needs, the elderly, and veterans. Johnna was an avid fiber artist who loved to share her creations with loved ones. She was an accomplished angler, enjoyed horseback riding, and had recently discovered a love of beekeeping. She was also the Team Mom for the Gaston Day School volleyball teams since 2003. Johnna was the light and joy of her family and friends, always ready to brighten the day of everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her parents and her son, Derek Levi Stamey, she is survived by her husband: Bill Stamey; daughter: Whitney Walker (Tyler); honorary son: Mihajlo Crnogorac (Ivana, and honorary granddaughter Ana); siblings: Candie Wright (Tammi Rushing), Stacie Wright, and Trenton Wright (Tawana); aunts and uncles, Pat and Johnny Campbell and Robert and Lynn Kiser; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9th, 2022 at 4:00 PM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Malcolm Lerch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service.
