John Bennett Daves

John Bennett Daves, age 75 of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Peak Resources.  He was born November 25, 1945 in Gaston County to the late J.P. Daves Sr. and Myrtle Newton Daves.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and retired from Carolina Freight.  Bennett enjoyed sports, golfing, and was an avid Carolina Tarheels fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, J.P. Daves, Billy Daves, Clyde Daves, Patsy Ruth Daves, Betty Neill and Linda Pow.

Survivors include his brother, Franklin Daves and wife, Rita; sisters, Reba Beam, and Sybil Bender and husband, John; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Keith Huss officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
