John Stone

John Wayne Stone, age 72, of Lincolnton, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. He was born January 29, 1949, son to the late Willie and Eula Mae Bright Stone.

John worked with Law Engineering for over 25 years and then went on to start his own company, Stone Drilling, where he retired in 2003.  He enjoyed NASCAR and Carolina Tarheels basketball.  John was a loving daddy and adored his daughter who he always strived to be there for.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather Stone; siblings, Willie Stone and wife, Jenny, Shirl Nesledeck and husband, Ron, Fletcher Stone and wife, Linda, and Jimmy Stone and wife, Chris; former wife and mother of his daughter, Cathy Stone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating.  Burial will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
