JAY BOSTON

John “Jay” William Boston, age 80, of Formosa Trial, passed away Friday December 6, 2019 at Carolina Caring Hospice House, Newton. He was born May 31, 1939 in Gaston County to the late Guy William and Dallas Hoyle Boston.

Jay was employed for 42 years as a painter with Charlotte Paint Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jay’s two favorite places were either in a tree stand or sitting at a carp lake.

He was preceded in death by his siblings; Donald, Carl, and Bob Boston, Cora Mae Emert, and Gertrude Spake.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Johnny Boston Hull (Kathy) of Maiden, Donald Boston Hull (Gail) of Lincolnton; brother, Ronald Boston (Faye) of Crouse; nephew, Dwayne Boston (Brenda) of Crouse; grandchildren, John Hull, Justin Hull, and Kenny Helms; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Helms, Daniel Helms, Caleb Helms, and Hunter Hull.

A Celebration of Jay’s life will be held at 3 PM Tuesday December 10, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services, Cherryville with Rev. Buddy Queen officiating.

His family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 prior to his service at the funeral home.
