Joe Allen Aderholdt, age 91, of Belmar Rd., passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 13, 1932, in Gaston County to the late William Allen and Ava Lee Crowder Aderholdt. He was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran. Joe was a member of the First Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed gardening, antique clocks, and loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Ann Drum Aderholdt; and siblings, James William Aderholdt, Charles Lamar Aderholdt, Dorothy A. Powell, and Jean A. Beam.
Survivors include his children, Jeffrey Aderholdt and wife, Stephanie of Shelby, Kathy Houser and husband, Rev. Johnny of Denver, Larry Aderholdt and wife, Kim of Shelby, and Jim Aderholdt and wife, Traci of Kings Mountain; 10 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Aderholdt, Christopher Townsend, Dylan Townsend and wife, Lovely, Krista Houser and husband, Ali Ashraf, Ashlee Tietje and husband, Matthew, Anthony Houser, Sophie Aderholdt, Ava Aderholdt, Christina Aderholdt, and Jacob Aderholdt; and two great grandchildren, Leo Ashraf and Deborah Tietje.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Houser officiating and with Military Honors. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the cemetery.
