Jo Ann Dorsett Day, 83, formerly of Rayfield Dr., died Saturday Dec. 19, 2015 at Peak Resources, Cherryville.
Jo Ann was born on Sept 6, 1932 in Elkin, NC a daughter of the late Roby Glenn and Seless Edison Dorsett. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was retired from Sweet Tree. Mrs. Day was an expert at crocheting and macramé and found great pleasure in playing nintendo.
In addition to parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Lloyd Day, and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Jane Rayfield (Curtis) of Bessemer City, three sons James
Day (Lynn) of Bessemer City, Doug Day (Lynn) and Andy Day (Teresa) both of Cherryville, one sister Wille Mae Corder of Elkin, grandchildren Wendy England (Jay), Callie Hahn (David) Lydia Alexander (Michael), Michael Day and Heather Day, and great grandchildren Mallory and Joseph England, and Christian and Landon Hahn.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating with burial in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 10-10:45 AM and at other times at the home of Jane and Curtis Rayfield.
