Jim Senter

James Hillard "Jim" Senter, age 81 of Greenway Ave. passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born August 13, 1935 in Dickenson County, VA to the late Pierce and Mertie Mullins Senter. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in textiles and enjoyed watching TV, especially Westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hilbert and Lenvil Senter; and sisters, Helen Mullins and Juanita Newberry.

Survivors include his brothers, Justin Senter and wife, Linda of Green Cove Springs, FL, Roy Senter and wife, Mattie of Lincolnton, and John Senter and wife, Fran of Cherryville; sister, Kathy Jennings of Forest City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Nathan Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
