Jeannie Smith

Jeannie Rebecca Hoyle Smith, age 72 of Shoal Road, died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her residence. She was born on October 28, 1942 in Gaston County to the late Calvin Coolidge and Addie Stella Self Hoyle. She was formerly employed at E.R. Carpenter's.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Andrew Smith; daughter, Reca Lynn Gales; and grandsons, Jodie Gales and Dusty Bowen.

Survivors include her daughters, Rita Gales Bowen and Donna Reshell Gales, both of Cherryville; son, Lester Todd Gales of Jackson, SC; grandchildren, Brandy Gales Legursky, Josh Gales, Drew Boyles, Wesley Brown, Reca Corral, Jennifer Black, and Alyssa Harris; great grandchildren, Keirstin Bowles, Jaydon Legursky, Kayleigh Gales, Matthew Gales, Bryson Sigmon, Skylar Bowen, Maddison Bowen, Andrew Lawson, Adam Lawson, Austin Lawson, Cierra Lawson, Justin Corral, Miranda Lane, Wesley Howell, Addie Black, Nevaeh Moses, and Dason Hamrick; and one great great grandchild, Colton Sternes.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 11:00 to 12:30 at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Hoyle Family Cemetery.
