Janice Walters

Janice Gay Crowder Walters, age 68 of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Cherryville, died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at White Oak Manor. She was born on August 10, 1946 in Lincoln County to the late James Furman Crowder, Sr. and Iva Ruth Walker Crowder. She was formerly employed at Freightliners and a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville. Janice loved animals, especially her dog, Sweet Pea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brad Crain.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Carly and Brooke Crain; brothers, Jimmy "Chip" Crowder and wife, Pam of Catawba, SC, Dennis "Cotton" Crowder and wife, Pam of Cherryville, and Larry Crowder and wife, Kathy of Valdese; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Crain Bodenheimer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
