Jane Helms

Jane Beam Helms, age 81 of E. Main St. died on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 1, 1932 in Lincoln County to the late James Webb and Eva Howell Beam. Jane was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was involved in the Keenagers and a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class. Mrs. Helms was retired as Director of Payroll from Carolina Freight.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Hugh Helms and a brother, James Robert Beam.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly H. Mauney and husband, Harold Jr. of Cherryville; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Cushman and husband, Casey of Lexington, SC, and Dustin C. Mauney of Cherryville; great-grandson due in May, Timothy Grayson Cushman; brother, Ronald S. Beam of Florence, SC; sister, Joyce B. Beam of Shelby; uncle, J.P. Beam of Cherryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the church dining hall and at other times at the home of Eloise Mauney, 501 Spring St., Cherryville, NC 28021.
