James Radford

James Elmer Radford, age 86 of Kirks Circle, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. He was born September 10, 1930 in McDowell County to the late Turner and Rodie Radford. He retired from textiles and enjoyed being outdoors and going on walks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; daughter, Brenda Jane Radford; and sisters, Pete Rome, Irene Seamens, and Rose Rafbone.

Survivors include his wife, Ola Lee Arrowood Radford; children, Gary Radford (Gloria), Lester Radford, Donna Flowers (Joe), Joe Radford (Charlene), and Kathy Radford; grandchildren, Patricia Koschny, Alicia Radford, Heather Radford, Angel Lenley, Forrest Flowers, Diane Radford, Tammy Columbia, and Roxy Radford; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Norris Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Armstrong Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
