James Patterson

July 30, 1942 — August 29, 2015

James "Buster" Houston Patterson, age 73 of Delview Rd. died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born on July 30, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late James Jethro Patterson Jr. and Velma Mazel Quinn Patterson. Jim worked for over 35 years in millwright construction. He raised show bantams and enjoyed participating in the shows. Jim also loved his dogs and all animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean Johnson; and brothers, Michael Quinn Patterson and Thomas Eugene Patterson.

Survivors include his brother, Bob Patterson and wife, Mary of Crouse; best friend, David Ellis of Cherryville; brother-in-law, Ken Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Travis Mull and Rev. Ken Faulkenbury will be officiating with burial to follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 12:00 to 12:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
