James Edward “Jim” Haynes, age 74 of Don McGinnis Rd. passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1945 in Lincoln County to the late James Franklin and EllRee Violet Mahala Haynes. Jim retired from La-Z-Boy and was the former manager of AMF Lanes. He was a member of the AMF bowling league. Jim was also an avid golfer and enjoyed softball. He was a talented woodworker and loved to create wood crafts with his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Carol “Buster” Haynes, Sally Haynes Lane, David “BM” Haynes, and Eddie Haynes.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Diane Jarrell-Haynes; sons, Robbie Haynes and Brandon Jarrell and wife, Jami; daughters, Teresa Haynes Lagassee and husband, Jeff, Deanna Haynes Brooks and husband, Alan, and Cassie Jarrell Woodlief and husband, Matt; brother, John “Pete” Haynes; sister, Barbara Haynes Ward; grandchildren, Sarah Helms (Dustin), Josh Peeler (Sara), Kaleb Brooks (Caitlin), Nick Brooks, Landen Jarrell, Ayden Jarrell, Rylan Jarrell, and Rowen Woodlief; and great grandchildren, NoraLeigh Helms and Hazel Helms.
DUE TO THE EXECUTIVE ORDER FROM THE GOVERNOR OF NC, A private family service will be held at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church and burial will take place at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
