Jack Smith

Jack Neal Smith, 74, of 111 Harrilson Rd., died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville. He was born in Gaston County on October 4, 1939, a son of the late Fred L. and Beulah Neal Smith. He was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church. He was retired from Bess Industry in Bessemer City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Smith, Jim Smith, and Joe Bill Smith; and sisters, Dorothy Jeanette Smith, Ruby Smith, and Gladys Isenhour.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Baldwin Smith; daughter, Donna Lankford (Marty) of Cherryville; sons, David W. Smith and Joseph D. Smith both of Cherryville; brother, Ronald F. Smith of Cherryville; sisters, Vickie Bryan (Roger) of Lincolnton, and Alice Carpenter of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Joshua Mull, Amber Smith, and Taffa Dixon; and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 4:30 PM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw and Rev. Curtis Norris officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 3:30 to 4:15 prior to the service at the church.
