Helen Froneberger

Helen Sue Bess Froneberger, age 90, of 2121 Fairways Dr., died Friday, May 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born on December 8, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Peter Jackson and Hattie Ethel Tillman Bess. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was employed for thirteen years at Carolina Freight. Helen graduated from North Brook #1 and attended Charlotte Business College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jonas Michael "Jim" Froneberger, Jr.; and siblings, Dwight, Jack, and Hal Bess, Frances Young, and Betty Wright.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Froneberger and wife, Pam of Marvin; grandchildren, David Michael Froneberger and Laura Elizabeth Froneberger; sister-in-law Leona Bess; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank her niece, Kim Young for the day to day care and love given to Helen; her niece, Debbie Hailey for the daily phone calls, love, and always being there when she needed to talk with someone; and the staff of Home Instead Senior Care of Gastonia for their care and compassion provided over the past months.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 12:30 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Eric Childers officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services.
