Helen Humphreys Eaton, 86, of Cricket Creek Drive, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her residence. She was born on August 18, 1928 in Haywood County, Tennessee to the late Odis and Mabel Read Humphreys. Helen graduated from Brownsville Tennessee High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player and Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Eaton was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was very kind and loving to everyone, and had such a special smile and dancing eyes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Odis Humphreys, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, James "Jim" Rawlings Eaton; sons, James Rawlings Eaton Jr. and wife, Cindi of Roanoke, VA, and John Humphreys Eaton and wife, Teresa of Bristol, TN; daughter, Janet Eaton Lynn and husband, Steve of Lincolnton; sister, Kathryn Childress of Clinton, TN; grandchildren, Heather Woody, Holly Hill, Connor Eaton, Caitlyn Sturgill, and Matt, Zack, and Allye Morton; and great grandchildren, Ashley Woody, Justin Woody, Parker Hill, Cooper Hill, and Noah Sturgill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Fite officiating. Burial will be private at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 to 12:45 prior to the service at the church.
