Harry Glenn Letchworth Sr. age 65 of Lincolnton, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Lincoln Rehab. He was born on August 13, 1949 in Gaston County to the late John Richard and Nannie Mae Spence Letchworth. He was a member of Westside House of Prayer where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a veteran of the US Marines and US Army. He was a cook in the military and then spent many years as a cook for Salvation Army. He enjoyed yard work and could always be found mowing and weedeating. A fond memory shared by his son was how much he would enjoy wrestling around with Glenn when he was younger. He was always playful and a fun loving man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Letchworth; and brothers, John Wayne Letchworth and Milton Letchworth.
Survivors include his son, Harry Glenn Letchworth, Jr. of Kingsport, TN; his grandchildren, Alana Jean Elizabeth Letchworth and Tristen Mullins , both of Pennington Gap, VA, and Keygan Massengill and Makenleigh Sue Letchworth, both of Kingsport, TN; former wife, Linda Letchworth Robbins of Dryden, VA; and special friends, Pastor Chris and Robin Randall of Cherryville. He also leaves behind his many friends and church family of Westside House of Prayer.
A special thanks is extended to the staff of Lincoln Rehab for their care and love shown to Harry.
A memorial service will be held at Westside House of Prayer on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Chris Randall officiating. Burial will be private.
