Harold Lee Lovelace Jr.

Harold Lee Lovelace Jr., age 59, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 3, 1965, to the late Harold Lee Lovelace Sr. and Mary Evon (Slaughter) McKinney. Harold was a 1983 graduate of Cherryville High School where he played baseball and football. Harold was retired from ABF Trucking Company. Outside of his family, he also enjoyed playing golf, corn hole, camping, telling stories and his dog, Luke. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by family members; Charles Lee “Charlie” Crowder, Larry Colvard, and Glenn Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Shelly Crowder; son, Cameron and wife, Melanie; and grandson, Beau Levi. Family members include Brenda Colvard, Pete & Carolyn Crowder, Crystal & Wesley Hudson, Autumn Kondzielski, Taylor Hudson, Bob Homesley, Jeremy, Heath, and John Jackson and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home in Cherryville with Rev. Randy Heffner officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the City Cemetery.
