Gilberto Cruz Chavez

Gilberto Cruz Chavez, age 31, of Sunny Hill Dr. died Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was born on July 8, 1983 in Mexico to Virginia Chavez Cruz of Hidalgo, Mexico and the late Maximino Cruz Segovia. Gilberto attended St. Dorothy's Catholic Church. He worked in home construction.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his girlfriend, Carina Sanchez of Lincolnton; daughter, Ricio Cruz Sanchez of Lincolnton; sister, Ivelia Cruz Sanchez of Hidalgo, Mexico; and numerous cousins and other relatives.

Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, August 1st, 2014 at 6:00 PM at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church in Lincolnton with Father David Miller. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Mexico.
