Gerald Leroy Hendricks, 78, of Hilldale Dr., died March 11, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House. He was born in Gaston Co. on Feb. 12, 1937 a son of the late Fred Thomas and Ruby Hendricks. Jerry was retired from FAB Ind. Mohican Mills as a Lab supervisor. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing softball and baseball in his younger days. He was also a Korean War veteran of the US Navy and member of Lincoln VFW Post # 1706
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Parker Hendricks in 2012.
Survivors include his children David Hendricks(Cindy), Lincolnton, Michael Hendricks, Lincolnton, Doug Hendricks(Hazel) Morristown TN and Chris Hendricks(Melissa) Cherryville two step children Dwayne Spivey, Cherryville and Debbie Suttles, Lincolnton, five grandchildren and six step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren sister Frieda Heavner, Cherryville, and brother Jim Hendricks CA.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 PM at Carpenters Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating with burial to follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 6-8 PM and at other times at the home.
