George Lingerfelt

George David Lingerfelt, age 90, of Mark St. died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Lincoln County on March 3, 1925 to the late Horace and Lona Cody Lingerfelt. G. D. was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, retired from Howell Mill with over 50 years of service and worked at Conley Kiser's Store. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, having a large garden and watching things grow. Mr. Lingerfelt had a passion for eating soda crackers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy Neill Lingerfelt in 2008, and a brother; Johnny Lingerfelt.

Surviving are his son, Bruce Lingerfelt and wife, Doris of Cherryville, grandchildren; David Lingerfelt of Cherryville, and Amy Pullara of Livingston, TX, four great grandchildren; Jake, Jocelyn, and Cheyenne Pullara, and Damia Lingerfelt, and a brother; Horace "Jr." Lingerfelt of Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Dale Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00-2:45 PM and at other times at the home.
