Fred Mcswain

Fred William McSwain, age 86 of Lee Black Rd. passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  He was born November 10, 1935 in Gaston County to the late Winfred and Florence Black McSwain. Fred was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He enjoyed farming and loved animals.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved working the land.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph McSwain and Danny McSwain; and sister, Kathryn Foster.

Survivors include his children, Ricky McSwain and Susan McSwain; grandchildren, Brandon Davis (Beatrice), Tray Davis (Shirley), and Breanna McSwain; great grandchildren, P-Beau, Parker, Braxton, Eli, Grace, Luke, Kinsley, and Jaxon; great great grandchild, Josiah; brothers, Delbert McSwain (Betty), and J.R. McSwain (Judy); sisters, Sue Tomlin and Linda Russell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 18, 2022 around sunset at 404 Lee Black Rd. Cherryville.
