Frances Eileen Davis Homesley, age 90, of Cherryville, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Homesley was born on June 14, 1923, in Cherokee, SC, a daughter of the late Arthur and Eva Mae Tate Davis. Frances was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and her missions group. She was also one of the members of the "Birthday Girls." She had retired from South School as the cafeteria manager.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Pinkney "A.P." Homesley, Jr.; a son, Richard Steven Homesley; and a sister, Rita Hollwedel.
Survivors include her son, Amos P. Homesley III "Buddy" (Jane) of Cherryville; daughter, Kay H. Turner (Larry) of Cherryville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Jagielski (Jerry), Lawrence David Turner, Jr. (Amy), Millicent Heavner (Scott), and Amos P. "Kelly" Homesley IV(Trudie); great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Zachary, Dave, Rachel, Maggie Beth, Micah Ty, Aaron, Dayne, and Allie Kay; sister-in-law, Margie Homesley; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
