Floriee "Flo" Elizabeth Able Pow Boyles, age 95, of Somerset Court, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her residence. She was born on September 11, 1918 in Greenwood Co. SC, a daughter of the late Sydney G. and Julia Brooks Able. Flo was a member of First Baptist Church and was a graduate of Hollywood High School in Saluda, SC. She worked as a seamstress for Bike Athletics, and then also part-time in the dining room at Carolina Care Center. Flo loved to dance and paint.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie R. Pow and Jay B. Boyles; brothers, Elliott Able, Robert Able, Dick Able, and Carson Able; and sisters, Parnell Whittle and Harriet Nabors.
Survivors include her son, Willie "Slick" Pow and wife, Linda of Cherryville; daughters, Patsy Pow Deloach of Greenwood, SC, Judy Pow Dellinger and husband, Gene of Crouse, and Jo Pow Hayes and husband, Frankie "Doodle" of Cherryville; brothers, Richard Able and wife, Clara of Ninety-Six, SC, and Don Able and wife, Betty of Ward, SC; sister, Jean Horne of Greenwood, SC; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dennis Reynolds and Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services.
