Faye Daves

Faye Anne Harris Daves, 79 of Baxter Rd. died on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born on April 14, 1935 in Cleveland County to the late Rev. William David Harris and Amiee Crawford Harris Huss. She attended Shelby Public Schools and graduated from Cherryville High School in 1953. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She had retired from BB&T in Cherryville. Faye enjoyed volunteer work and serving others. She was a watchman for Hospice of Cleveland County, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Keenagers. She served with the N.C. Baptist Disaster Relief Team on numerous mission trips. Faye loved the beach and was an avid reader. She was a very social lady and dedicated to her family and church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James "J.P." Philector Daves, Jr.; brothers, Charles, Paul, Roy, and Earl Harris; and sisters, Pearl Ashley, Ethel Griffin, Helen West, Cleo Lovelace, and Nadine Palos.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Panton and husband, Steve of Cherryville, Kim Cook and husband, John of Cherryville, and Jim Daves of Stockbridge, GA; grandchildren, Asher Panton, Ethan Panton (Jessica), Ben Lastra (Dora), Kristen Watts (Clint), J.P. Daves IV, and Jennifer Daves; and great grandchildren, Lizzy Panton, Kasen Watts, and Savannah Lastra.
