Edith Anthony

Edith Marie Dellinger Anthony, age 88 of Harrilson Rd, formerly of Pine Ave. passed Thursday, June 4th, 2015 at Carolina Care Center. Marie was born on July 19th, 1926 in Gaston County to the late Lester Coite and Edith Elliot Dellinger. She was a member at First Presbyterian Church. Marie was known for being kind to everyone. She never complained about anything and always had such a sweet spirit. She was so grateful for all the visits she received from her friends and family. Marie was ready for journey home to be with her Lord and see all her family who had gone on to heaven.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Anthony; son, Daniel "Danny" Lester Anthony; brother, Robert Dellinger; and sister, Sarah Dellinger Willis.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Janet Wright Anthony of Cherryville; grandson, Matthew Anthony wife, Abby of Belmont; and great-grandson, Logan Anthony.

The family would like to thank all the friends and church family who visited with her and Diane Bumgardner for the scripture readings.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7th at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville with Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
