Dot Walker

Dorothy Mae Lail Walker, age 92 of S. Depot St. passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 28, 1924 in Gaston County to the late John Franklin and Meda Hartman Lail. Dot and her sister, Nan, ran Nanny's Nursery where she devoted her time to taking care of and loving children. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed Putt-Putt and boating in her younger years, as well as bowling in the Club Carolina league.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hillard Walker; and sisters, Clara Davis and Nan Patterson.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Fran Walker Moritz; sons, Rick Walker and wife, Carolyn and Tony Walker; grandchildren, Jason Floyd and wife, Nancy, Misha Walker, and Lauren W. Lockridge and husband, Sam; and great grandchildren, Brigitte, Ian, Sebastian, Caylin, and Camdyn.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 6:30 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 6:15 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
