Doris Chronister

Doris Duke Homesley Chronister, age 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Somerset Court of Cherryville. She was born June 19, 1930 in Gaston County to the late Albert Herbert Homesley and Novella Adams Homesley.  She was a graduate of Kings College and worked as an executive secretary at GE/Black and Decker in Charlotte.

Doris was a unique individual who touch the lives of all who knew her.  Her vanity and her humor allowed her to live life in full bloom.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Boyd Homesley and nephew, Albert Benjamin Homesley.

Survivors include her sister in law, Ann Homesley, her nieces, Angela Whitworth (Hoke) and Jannie Smith and many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff at Somerset Court for their loving care and attentiveness for Doris while she was a resident there.  She had a special place in her heart for each one of you.

Special thanks to Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice for the compassion and respect you gave to Doris while she was in your care.
