Dewey Lafayette Hastings, age 69 of Old Hardin Rd. passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born May 8, 1952 in Lincoln County to the late Judson Lafayette and Constance Stubbs Hastings. Dewey was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and enjoyed working on tractors and other equipment. He also enjoyed refurbishing old vehicles and raising horses with his wife, Connie. Dewey was a gun enthusiast and formerly owned a military surplus store.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carolyn Player.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Connie Sneed Hastings; son, Carl Hastings (Cindy); daughter, Crystal Hastings (Michael); brother, Bud Hastings (Linda); sister, Carole Hiott (Ralph); grandchildren, Camryn, Trent, and Lauren Hastings, and Caitlyn Ledford; father-in-law, Carroll Sneed; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Sneed, Sheri Sneed (Steve), Debbie Rascati (Mike), and Suzanne Dillard (Alan); nephews and nieces, Brandon Hastings (Jaysha), Amber Bloom (Reggie), Judson Hiott, Brian Hiott (Jennifer); and Allison Clark (Clint); numerous great nieces and nephews; and his beloved companion, Champ.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Zack Christy officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:30 to 5:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
