Derriel Link

Derriel Link, age 89, of Gastonia, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  He was born June 22, 1934 in Lincoln County to the late Baylus Link and Minnie Hull.  Derriel enjoyed yard work and gardening.  He also loved chickens and his pet birds. 

He was preceded in death by his mom, Minnie Hull; his father and stepmother, Baylus and Virginia Gordon Link; and stepbrother, Samuel Gordon.

He is survived by his good friends Ms. Lynette and Dr. David Demperio; roommates, Christy, Erin, Chip, Greg, and Danny; and his many friends and family from Gaston Residential Services from the past 40 years.  A special thank you is extended to the wonderful staff of Senior TLC for the care and love provided to Derriel throughout the years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Gastonia with Rev. Tom Corbell and Rev. Cody Carpenter officiating.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
