Deonna Anthony

Deonna Lynn Ozment Anthony, age 53 of Anthony Lane in Cherryville passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare System in Pineville. She was born November 5, 1963 in Wilkes County to Shelby Ozment Spiva of Hickory and the late Tommy Ozment. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and formerly employed as custodian at Cherryville Elementary. She enjoyed arts and crafts and her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, James Spiva.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 27 years, James Grant Anthony; children, Ronnie Wilcox (Jessica) of Lavonia, GA, Travis Wilcox (Lauren) of Oakley, GA. Scarlett Gunter (Clint) of Cherryville, Jonathan Anthony (Hollie) of Kings Mountain, and Drake Anthony (Melanie) of Cherryville; twelve grandchildren; mother-in-law, Judy Anthony; special aunt and uncle, Linda and Buck Propst; great friends, Ann Rudisill and Teresa Towery; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 4, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Mull officiating. Burial will follow at the Anthony Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

Memorials may be made to defray funeral costs to the family or to the funeral home.
