Dartha Dease

June 18, 1916 — January 10, 2015

Dartha Louise Boyd Dease, 98, of Cherryville formerly of Hephzibah Church Rd., Bessemer City, died January 10, 2015 at Peak Resources. Mrs. Dease was born in York, SC on June 18, 1916 a daughter of the late Jesse David and Ollie Sipe Boyd.

Louise was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the Young at Hearts and the Florene Stiles Sunday School class. She was proud to say she never had a bad dessert, enjoyed traveling, and found great pleasure in retail therapy (Shopping). She will be missed by her family and many friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Wilson Dease in 1992 a daughter Frances Dease Auchter and a sister Pauline Boyd Auchter.

Survivors include her daughter Dartha Dease Stroupe and husband Dwight of Bessemer City, son Dickie Dean Dease and wife Jeanne of Belews Creek, NC, ten grandchildren Lisa Couturier, Dave Auchter, Bob Auchter, Dean Dease, Jeff Dease, Shane Stroupe, Eric Stroupe, Jim Luke, Kendall Luke, and Jeanene Luke, 19 great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner and Rev. Rick Fite officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:30-2:45 PM and at other times at the home of Dartha and Dwight Stroupe.
