Dana Jo Ballard

Dana Jo Ballard Perez, age 53, of S. Jacob St., passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born October 30, 1969 in Cleveland County to the late Joe and Janice Ballard.  Dana loved traveling to the beach and to the mountains.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking part in Toys for Tots and other Charity Events.  She was a member of CMA, Christian Motorcyclists Association.  Dana also enjoyed arts and crafts, especially jewelry making.  She loved music and sitting in the sun.  Dana cherished moments spent with family and with her precious dog, JoJo.

Survivors include her spouse, Dwight Leadbetter; lifelong best friend, Samuel Perez; daughters, Lindsay Ballard (Purity Hoffman) and Ashley Smith (Chris Mullins); brother, Jamey Wyatt; sisters, Angela Jones and Candy Vinesett; nieces: Mary Beth Wyatt, Stephanie Benfield, Emily Wright; nephew, Zach Bridges; aunt, uncle, and cousins, Brenda and Carroll Carpenter, Blake, Kevin, and Heather; and her ride or die, Angie Leatherman.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 9, 2023, from 11:00 to 11:30 AM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, at 12:00 PM following the visitation with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.

Burial will be private.
