Clinard Young

Clinard Nelson Young, age 94, of Nelson Road, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 6, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Elva Walker and Louise Carpenter Young.

Clinard was a veteran of the United States Army. Clinard enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking, gardening, camping, and fishing. He also good music and dancing with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Young, and Larry Gene Young; and sister, Faye Youngblood.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley Tutherow Young; sons, Wayne Young, and Jeff Young (Regina); grandchildren, Amanda Cox (Mark), Phillip Young, Cameron Hurst, and Leann Chapman; great grandchildren, Dylan Rikard, Morgan Young, Masey Young, and Cassie Rikard.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday June 15, 2021 at River View Baptist Church with Mike Young officiating.

His family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be private.
