Wade Ward

Clifford Wade Ward, age 76, of Racine Drive, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 17, 1947 in Cleveland County to the late Eugene Webb and Elizabeth Bonnie Rayfield Ward. Wade loved working on the farm alongside his wife Frances.

Wade was a 1965 graduate of Waco High School. He was a member of the USDA and the Cleveland County Livestock Association. He was an avid hunter and raised many beagles and foxhounds over the years. Wade loved his family and his land and was one of the last old school farmers. Wade will be remembered for being quick to dish-out life lessons.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Frances Louise Whitesides Ward; and his brother, Bruce Ward.

Survivors include his brother, Dean Ward (Joyce), and Darrell Ward; nephews, Jeff Ward, Eric Ward and wife, Sherry and Tommy Ward; Niece, Renee Ledford; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews; and many close friends. He is also survived by his faithful German Shepherd, Buddy.

The family will be meeting at Wade’s home to receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 Monday, April 10, 2023.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Capernaum Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.
