Charles Lindsay Ferrell, age 74, of Hwy 274 N, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Lincolnton Rehab. He was born on April 14, 1940 in Newberry County, South Carolina to the late Stewart Lindsay and Eunice Elizabeth Brooks Ferrell. Charles was a member of Missionary Methodist Church. He was a retired lab technician working for Mohican Mills, Travis Knits, and Gaston Industries. He then worked part-time with Carpenter's Funeral Home. Charles loved playing his guitar and played with many groups and individuals. He enjoyed sharing his gift of music in church, assisted living centers, and nursing facilities. Charles also spent his time working in his yard. He was a very faithful and kind man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Annie Pearl Willis Ferrell and Maxine Evelyn Reynolds Ferrell; sister, Jacqueline Ferrell Hand; and a step-son, Gary Dean Willis.
Survivors include his sons, Richard L. Ferrell and Thomas Derek Ferrell, and their mother, both of Dallas; niece, Sheri Nees of Sarasota Fl; and two nephews, Barrett Hand of Mount Dora, Fl. And John Hand of Bradenton, FL.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
