Charles Boyles

Charles Robert “Hoss” Boyles, age 82, passed away peacefully Monday, April 29, 2019 at home. He was born June 22, 1936 in Lincoln County to the late Joseph Russell and Vera Pearl Howell Boyles. Charles was formerly employed as a mechanic in the textile industry. He also was an officer with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hal Boyles, and Alfred “Don” Donald Boyles

Survivors include his brother, Gary Boyles of Margate, FL.; sisters; Betty Jo Carlson of Palm Coast, FL., Christine Scronce and husband, Bill of Asheville and Foxene Beaty and husband, Gene of Charlotte; four nieces and 2 nephews.

His family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services, 1100 E. Main Ave. Cherryville, NC.

A graveside service will follow at Bethlehem UMC Cemetery with Military honors provided by Cherryville American Legion Post #100.
