Carol Simone Cooper Stover, 77, of W. Academy St. died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 22, 1937 in Fayette County, WV, to Annie Cooper and the late Joseph Cooper. Carol was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as the secretary for a number of years. She had previously worked at Tri-County Industries in Rocky Mount. Ms. Stover was an avid bowler, loved to craft, and had been a Girl Scout leader.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Dean Stover; and sisters, June Flanagan and Sandy Cooper.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Virginia Adams of Rocky Mount, and Teresa Bradley and husband, Jonathan of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Hope Adams, Rebecca Parks, and Melia Adams of Rocky Mount, Dean Clemmer of Clinton, NC, Tara Atchley of Kennewick, WA, and Constance Mickle and Elizabeth Bradley of Bessemer City; and eleven great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the American Stroke Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979. Please note in the memo, "In memory of Carol Stover, mother of Teresa Bradley."
