Bobby Weathers

Rev. Bobby Gene Weathers, age 81 of Doc Wehunt Rd., died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Carolina Care Center. He was born on April 7, 1933 in Gaston County to the late James Corbett and Minnie Frances Etters Weathers. Rev. Bobby was a former pastor of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church and former associate pastor at East Belmont Freewill Baptist Church. He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed making music, gardening, motorcycles, spending time with his family, and serving the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Irene Weathers; brother, James Weathers; sister, Dorothy Weathers; and daughter, Bobbie Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Eretta Bowen Weathers; sons, Scott Weathers of Belmont, and Douglas Glenn Rogers and wife, Carol of Cherryville; daughter, Wanda Rogers and husband, James of Stanley; brother, Floyd Weathers of Michigan; grandchildren, Shelby Millwood and husband, Greg of Cliffside, Emily Philbeck of Forest City, and Paul Rogers and wife, Brittney; great grandchildren, Justin Millwood, Meredith Parker and husband, Alex, Hannah Millwood, Jonah Millwood, Katelyn Wilson, Maggie Wilson, and Natalie Grace Rogers; great great grandchild, Zoey Parker; and nieces and nephews, Don Weathers, Brenda Schramm and her children, McKenna and Makala, and Tina Popard and daughter, Dawn Geiesmayer

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Cherryviille American Legion Post #100. Burial will be held privately at a later date. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 to 3:15 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
