BOBBY DEAN HARRIS, U.S. Navy (Retired)

OSCS Bobby Dean Harris, age 76, of Lawing Street, passed away Saturday May 23, 2020. He was born February 28, 1944, In Cleveland County to the late Claude and Ruth Geneva Williams Harris.

Mr. Harris was a graduate of Appalachian State, Southern Illinois University, and Rutgers University. He was also a retired Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy, having actively served for 22 years.  He loved his family above all else. He also loved bluegrass music and long drives through the countryside. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Bowlin.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jerremy Harris and daughter-in-law Erika of Lincolnton, and Jessica Harris of Pennsuken, NJ; grandson, Gavin Harris of Lincolnton; sisters, Esther Costner.

A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at 3pm Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services, Cherryville.
