Betty Sue Wray

Betty Sue Black Wray, age 68, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  She was born April 13, 1955, in Cleveland County to the late Doug Black and Sue Carpenter Grigg.  Betty was an avid reader, especially of Stephen King novels. She also adored horses. Betty was very artistic and loved to draw. She was an exceptionally caring and loving person.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her two sisters, Wanda Hodges and Sandy Black.

Betty is survived by her sons, Jamie Grigg and Shane Wray; daughter, Rhonda Wray (Jonathan Sisk); brother, Bobby Black (Tracie); grandchildren, Kathrine Craig, Justin Grigg, Katelynn Grigg, Trinity Wray, Hunter Grigg, Logan Wray, Liam Wray, Sheadon Moncree, and Jacaleb Lynch; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Grigg; and special niece, Frances Seate.

A Time of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services, during which the family will receive friends.
