Betty Tillman

Mary "Betty" Propst Tillman, age 90 of Cramerton, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Courtland Terrace. She was born March 26, 1928 in Gaston County to the late Lemuel Lester Robert Propst and Claudia Blackwood Propst. Betty enjoyed cooking, flowers, and birds. She also loved the beach where she and her husband, Ben lived for many years at Long Beach-Oak Island.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ben Ford Tillman; son, Dale Ford Tillman; and siblings, Toby, Jack, Andrew, and Earl Prost and Dolly Vandyke.

Survivors include her daughters, Benette Sutton and husband, Robert of Cramerton and Lisa Adams and husband, Gene of Grover; grandchildren, Christa DiCiaccio and Tony Patterson; and great grandchildren, Lee, Saxon, and Ben Snyder.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Dennis Wells officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
