Betty Rhyne

Betty Jean Rhyne, age 60 of Lincolnton Hwy, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Carolina Medical Center Lincolnton. She was born June 26, 1954 in in Lincoln County to the late Harvey Palmer and Ruth Rich Rhyne. Betty collected dolls and enjoyed going to the casinos. In her younger years, she loved to travel and go on cruises.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Rhyne.

Survivors include her children, Angie Shrewsbury and husband, Thomas of Cherryville, and Clayton Carpenter Jr. of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Amanda, Jenna, Thomas, and Andrew Shrewsbury and Lily Carpenter; brothers, Buddy Rhyne and Tommy Rhyne; and sisters, Hazel Blackburn, Polly Aiken, Martha Fredell, Geraldine Cunningham, and Shirley Shook.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Kyeth Lindsay officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
