Betty Jean Randall Black, age 88 of Dellinger Circle passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 15, 1930 in Gaston County to the late Lector Lee and Edna Mae Sigmon Randall. Betty was a faithful member of First Presbyterian. She loved her church and her church family. She had retired from Blackwelder's Textiles. Betty enjoyed playing Bingo and cherished her time spent with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Wayne Black; an infant daughter, Surita Jean Black; and siblings, J.L. Randall and Merlyn Carpenter.
Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Shelton of Lincolnton and Sherry Parker of Mooresville; grandchildren, Todd Sain (Anissa), Tina Heafner (Scott), Haylee Harrelson (Clay), and Christy Wehunt; great grandchildren, Chandler, Bryn, Chase, Logan, Judd, Zander, Kemp, Kayla, and Asher; and siblings, Glenn Randall and Ann Ramsey (D.B.).
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
