Betty Beam

Betty Jean Huss Beam, age 81, of Cherryville died at Courtland Terrace, Gastonia on August 30, 2013. She was born on October 7, 1931 in Gaston County, the daughter of the late Howard Bliss and Tula McCurry Huss. Betty was retired from Hewlett Mfg. and a Member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Floyd Beam, Jr. and an infant son William H. Beam.

She is survived by a daughter Rise' Allen (Ronnie), a son Tim Beam (Ginger) both of Cherryville, four grandchildren, Tamara Allen, Cayce Beam, Hannah Choate and Allison Black, 4 great-grandchildren Raelyn Black, Brennan May, Addison Choate and Brystol Black, two sisters, Anita Hefner (Ralph) of Salem, SC and Jessie Carroll (Arthur) of Kings Mountain.

Funeral services will be conducted September 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner and Rev. Ralph Hefner officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service and at other times at the homes of her children.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Prayer Quilt Ministry, 301 E. First Street or donor's choice.
