Bertha Pruitt

Bertha Ophelia Pruitt, age 91 passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. She was born September 27, 1927 in Cleveland County to the late Odus and Lillian Cooper Hayes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Carl, Norman and Samuel Pruitt and Mona Pruitt Pruett; siblings, Bill Hayes, Bud Hayes, Mabel Hayes and Helen Kale.

She is survived by her son, Warren Pruitt Jr. of Cherryville; ten grandchildren; sisters, Rita Conti and Betty Baugham and husband, Grady and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
