Beatrice Dellinger

Beatrice "Tootie" Watts Dellinger, age 82 of Crouse School Rd died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare Systems - Lincoln. She was born on March 27, 1933 in Gaston County to the late Charlie and Mae Funderburk Watts. She was a member of Crouse United Methodist Church and retired from Lincoln County Schools having worked at Crouse and Love Memorial. Tootie loved cooking, retail therapy, West Lincoln Football, and the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charley Boyd Dellinger; brothers, Robert, Thurman, and Clyde Watts; and sisters, Carrie Philbeck, Velma Pope, Gladys Snyder, and Dorothy Anthony.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Dellinger of the home; son, Danny Dellinger and wife, Letha of Crouse; three grandchildren, Danielle D. Brown and husband, Chris of Crouse, Michele D. Franklin and husband, Zach of Crouse, and D.J. Dellinger and companion, Megan Bumgarner of Crouse; four great grandchildren, Brianna and Blake Brown, and Timmy and Kenzleigh Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Crouse United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Sanders and Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
