Barbara Ann Drum Aderholdt, age 74, of Belmar Rd., died December 29, 2014 at Peak Resources. She was born on April 3, 1940 in Catawba County to the late William Henry Drum and Pauline Paige Kennedy. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church and worked hard as a bookkeeper at multiple retail establishments. She was crowned Miss Cherryville in 1958. During her lifetime she enjoyed crocheting and traveling, especially traveling cross country by way of RV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Everette Kennedy.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joe Allen Aderholdt; children, Jeffrey Aderholdt and wife, Stephanie of Shelby, Kathy Houser and husband, Rev. Johnny of Denver, Larry Aderholdt and wife, Kim of Shelby, and Jim Aderholdt and wife, Traci of Kings Mountain; brothers, Pervie Drum and wife, Joyce of Cherryville, Roy Drum and wife, Kattie of Gaffney, SC, and Troy Drum and wife, Sherry of Cherryville; and 10 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Aderholdt, Christopher Townsend, Dylan Townsend, Krista Houser and husband, Ali Ashraf, Ashlee Tietje and husband, Matthew, Anthony Houser, Sophie Aderholdt, Ava Aderholdt, Christina Aderholdt, and Jacob Aderholdt.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark B. Poe and Rev. Johnny Houser officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
